Timesheets are one the most requested pieces of functionality when dealing with accounting software. In many service companies and professional firms they can be one of the biggest headaches. Standard software pricing can often be prohibitive for large timesheet users especially where each timesheet user is named or requires a full access concurrent license.
Many companies use MS Excel or design their own database with tools like MS Access. These solutions can often create their own set of problems including support and remote access. No wonder then that this application should be available as a service.
As well as being one of the few Timesheet applications that can be used under the SaaS model you can also download JourneyX for both Windows and Linux for upto 10 users.

JourneyX and all other hosted timesheet applications are not truly SaaS because they still follow an enterprise model. A true SaaS model would have each end-user as their own instance. Why is this important? Because the one inherent issue common to all enterprise applications is that they are enterprise-based. In the world of timesheet reporting, a substantial amount of reporting is between end-users at various organizations or entities (contractor and sub-contractor, service provider and client, etc.). When end-users are not limited by the enterprise, cross-organizational interaction can occur.
Our company believes that one major difference bewteen hosted and SaaS is the universality that can be achieved. We also believe that is the true value proposition offered by using the NET as a platform. If you’d like to learn more, please contact me at email provided.

Interesting…
DOVICO (http://www.dovico.com) has now moved into the SAAS space for Timesheet Management and Time Management. We are investigating many different types of pay models for our online software. The challenge is ‘whats best for the client’ and how can we monitor that to introduce this methodology into the SAAS model. Though this seems like a simple enough question, it is complicated by the varied use/access of the individuals of a corporation.

The timesheet should be a valuable management tool, allowing for assessment as to whether resources are being deployed appropriately. Unfortunately, in the wrong hands, it can be something rather less valuable. In your case, your account director doesn’t seem to have grasped the point of the exercise. This could be because he/ she wants to demonstrate an amazing level of control over account activity- however, if I was their boss, I’d immediately be suspicious of such an apparent untrammelled grip on how the…
